Christmas Eve

Trying to get some Christmas memories scrapbooked before it gets to far away from me. Christmas was so much fun this year with two toddlers! Hopefully more to come soon...

I Just Had To Share

I love to visit the Memory Makers Magazine site. In addition to good ideas, they also have digital freebies; they don't update them very often but they are always really good ones. I just stopped by and saw this new one:

Isn't it awesome? By Emily Powers, one of my fav designers. Go here (now!) to grab it!

Let It Snow!

It has been snowing like crazy here! We have nearly two feet so far, and more on the way. I prefer to stay inside and scrap about it, while my boys go and play in it! ;)

New Christmas Goodies!

I'm so excited for Christmas this year. I haven't even started decorating (hopefully soon) but this new kit is getting me in the mood:

It is available on a CD at Digital Scrapbook Memories for only $5 (right here)! And guess what else? DSM has a whole new shop with lots of other cute stuff including chipboard albums that you can get with premade pages to fit! Check it out here.

And here's a layout I just finished with the new kit:

Late (as usual)

Finally got my October spread done for my "Ordinary Life" album. But for some reason when I resized my originals for the web the colors were desaturated... they are really a lot more vibrant than you see here. I'm confused - never had that happen before. Oh well, at least my printed copy will look fine.

I Forgot About This One...

Once I start a page I usually can't stop until it's done... but every once in a while I start something and then get interrupted so I have to save it and finish later. Today I was going through my files and I came across this page that I started months ago and had completely forgotten about. It was all about how Miles would call KC "Mommy" all the time, even after he learned how to say "Daddy". It was fun to finally finish it up.

Album Covers

I have quite a few albums that have little viewing windows on the front...

... so I decided to make some custom covers to slip in and make them look a little prettier. I love scrapbooking on a small scale like this, it seems to come together a lot more quickly for me versus a whole layout. Here are a few for my 2007 family albums:

{stitching & leaves by Shabby Princess; brown ribbon by Kelley Mickus; tag by Gina Cabrera; flower by Dani Mogstad; striped paper by Jessica Sprague; yellow paper by Sarah Benson; "2 Peas High Tide" font}

And these are for my boys' baby books... still trying to decide how I want to organize these albums and if I need more pages, but at least they'll have cute album covers! Zach's has a pretty big window, so I was able to embellish a lot:

{papers, buttons, felt embellishments, ribbon, stitching, & word tags by GG Digital Designs; folder frame w/ clip by Katie Pertiet; "GG Basic" font}

And Miles' is tiny, so I kept it simple:

A Little Obsessed

My latest - using more stuff by Tiff Brady! I'm sort of obsessed with her designs. I'd like to say that I scrapbook just because I want to capture the memories, but nothing gets me going like cute stuff to work with!

New Goodies

A couple of weeks ago {we are} storytellers was having an awesome sale so I splurged. I absolutely love their designs and their overall concept of keeping the focus of scrapbooking on telling your story. I just scrapped a couple of pages today using my new goodies:

This picture was taken last week

{pattern paper, stitches and alpha from "Autumn Sky" kit by Laurie Anderson (Heavens Gate Designs), blue paper from "roughed up mats" by Emily Merritt, ric rac ribbon from "My Little Toadstool" kit and yarn swirls by Tiff Brady, "Pea Jay" font}

And these were taken two years ago - feels good to finally get them scrapped!

{string, autumn wordart & pumpkins from "Autumn Sky" kit by Emily Powers, orange solid paper from "Autumn Sky" kit by Laurie Anderson (Heavens Gate Designs), paper leaves, green buttons, and orange pattern paper from "Birdseed" kit by Tiff Brady, stitching from "Art Nation" kit by Emily Powers, paper block template by Emily Merritt, "Pahlino Pedra Azul" and "Typewriter" fonts}

Also - you probably noticed my new header - everything is from {we are} storytellers, by the fabulous Tiff Brady. Fun stuff!

Halloween Project

I made a little Halloween craft yesterday. I spotted these two frames that I picked up on sale a Target a while ago in my room, still empty, and decided they would be great for Halloween. So I opened up two 4x6 inch canvases in Photoshop and created this. This was so super easy - I just wish I'd thought of it sooner so we could have enjoyed it for more than two days! Ah, well, there's always next year...

Christmas on the Delaware

I was thinking about this the other day - on Christmas day in 2005 we were in Philadelphia, just our little family, and we went to see a reenactment of Washington crossing the Delaware river. And I realized I'd never scrapbooked it, so I put it on my "list" (it's a mental list) to do sometime. I decided to do it for the scraplift challenge at All Things Visual. Check it out - the winner gets a $5 gift certificate and your odds are good since no one else has done it yet!

Parade

Zach thought the 4th of July parade we went to was so cool. A few days later, he started playing "parade" with his toys and it's one of his favorite things to do. I've been meaning to scrapbook this for a while and I finally got to it!

{white background paper by fei-fei; bead alpha from Digital Scrapbook Memories "Family Ties" CD; glitter hearts and gold paper by Michelle Coleman; mesh overlay by Kim Christensen; blue ribbon from My Scrapbook Art's "Birthday" collab kit by Chere Edwards - journaling strips also from that kit by Amy Wolff; torn paper template by Kelley Mickus; tag by Miss Mint; "Courier" font}

It's Been Awhile

... since I just did a single layout. I've been busy with so many projects, it was fun to get back to the usual.

Featured

I was pretty happy when I saw my layout at the top of Ms. Ali Edwards' blog post the other day... she's like a scrapbooking legend! I read her blog religiously ('cause she's so cool) and I participated in her "Week In The Life" challenge. Basically you document everything, everyday, for a week and compile it into an album. I whipped up my layout for Monday and emailed it to her - and the next thing you know there it is! I hadn't shared the layout here yet because I was waiting until I had the entire album finished, but of course that hasn't happened yet. But it will! In the meantime, you can see the post here, and here's the layout:

And if you're curious to see Ali's "Week In The Life" album, look here. I really love her clean, effortless style.
