Check This Out...

Do you ever visit The Daily Digi? I absolutely love this site. It is updated daily and is filled with all kinds of helpful tips, tutorials, and inspiration. Each month they spotlight different designers and offer a sampling of their designs in the Digi Files. You can purchase the Digi Files for only $5, which is and amazing deal because each one is just full of cool products. I confess I've never purchased it, but if I weren't doing creative teams this would definitely be the way to go! The latest release is The Digi Files #12.

Anyway, SuzyQ Scraps was the latest designer spotlighted, and since I'm on her creative team I was able to use her Digi Files kit, "Sunshine." The colors in this kit are so fun. Here's what I came up with:

As I read through the spotlight post, I was excited and surprised to see one of my layouts featured there, too! Go check it out here, and browse some of the other posts, if you haven't already!

We Got One!

I'm not sure why I don't use templates more often... this came together so quick and easy because I used one. If you have never used a layered template before, find out more here. You can also find free templates to download on most digital scrapbooking blogs or forums.

Digi Olympics 2010

I'm playing along for the Digi Olympics at Digital Scrapbook Memories again this year. Well, so far I've only completed one challenge, but I hope I'll find time to do more.

"Ski Jumping Challenge - For this challenge I'm going to have you jump from one project to another. I want you to use something from an existing scrapbook page to create another project. You could completely recycle a layout as we have talked about before, or you could just take parts of your design to make something new."

So for this I was inspired by one of my favorite pages from a couple of years ago:

{credits here}

I basically just copied it to create this:

{scallop borders from "Kindergarten Crafts" by Miss Mint; everything else from Digital Scrapbook Memories: red paper from "Morning Dew" kit "Enjoy the Journey" CD; notebook alpha and stars from "Teen" kit "Family Ties" CD; buttons from "Playful" kit "Moods" CD; blue alpha from "Violet's Clubhouse" kit "Playground" CD; "MA Sexy" and "Love Ya Like A Sister" fonts}

Laid Back

I really like the unique elements I used in this layout. Aren't the splats of paint, screws, and the zipper cool? I love digital because I would never think to use stuff like that on a real paper layout.

I Love Valentine's Day!

It's true. In fact, if I had to pick a favorite holiday, Valentine's would probably be it. I'm not sure why, but I just *love* Valentine decor. I'm usually not a pink/red fan at all, but I'm all over it in February! Plus the candy and chocolate only helps. I also love how this layout turned out. I'm usually not very good at clustering elements, but think this one turned out pretty good.

Year Two

I love this page - well I love the idea of it, still not sure if I love the design. But I love pages like this that give a glimpse of something over time, rather than just a one time event. These photos are of my almost-three-year-old; there is picture from each month he was two. I love seeing the gradual progression of how he changed and grew in just one year. I'd love to keep this a tradition and do one for each year for each of my kids.
